Author Surbhi Gupta distributes Chabeel on Nirajala Ekadashi 4c4937

Acclaimed author Surbhi Gupta, best known for her bestselling debut novel Iron Draped in Silk, took a heartwarming step this Nirjala Ekadashi by distributing Chabeel, a cool drink made with milk and water, to the public in a thoughtful act of kindness and cultural celebration.
Known for her strong storytelling and deep connection with Indian traditions, Surbhi has always loved Hindu practices and loves to follow them. Nirjala Ekadashi falls on the hottest day of summer and is observed by many through fasting and spiritual reflection.
The event took place in a modest yet spirited manner in a local neighborhood of Delhi, where Surbhi personally handed out chilled glasses of milk to ersby, devotees, and workers braving the summer heat. Her team ensured that the event maintained a balance of hygiene, sustainability, and warmth.
Surbhi shared her thoughts on the occasion:
“I have seen my parents practice Chabeel, since I was a child. So, it was only obvious for me to take this practice forward. Ekadashi is a time for inner calm and reflection and I wanted to honour that by offering a small token of care to the community.”
Surbhi Gupta rose to fame with her viral book “Iron Draped in Silk” a gripping novel that artfully weaves themes of strength, vulnerability, and societal expectations into poetry. The book struck a chord with readers across age groups and geographies.
Beyond her writing, Surbhi is known for her interest in social causes, women’s empowerment, and cultural preservation. Her gesture on Ekadashi, while simple, reflects a broader philosophy – that in difficult times, humanity and unity are the only thing that matter.
As temperatures soar and life grows ever more fast-paced, small, sincere efforts like this one stand as reminders of how traditions and comion can keep communities connected.
