Digi Yatra is an industry-led initiative backed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) and operated by the Digi Yatra Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation. It is a cutting-edge Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) based ecosystem adhering to the principles of Privacy by Design, ensuring that all biometric and personal information remains safe and secure. From its inception in 2022, Digi Yatra has grown significantly, touching 5 million ed s mark by August 2024 and operational at 24 locations pan-India. Today, engers can move past various airport checkpoints in just 5 seconds using their facial biometrics as a single token.
