Indian Investors Gain INR 25.90 Lakh Crore in FY25 535o17

29th March 2025: Indian investors saw a wealth increase of ₹25.90 lakh crore in the 2024-25 financial year, with the BSE Sensex rising by 5.10%, while the NSE Nifty gained 5.34%. The market capitalization of BSE-listed companies surged to ₹4.13 lakh crore ($4.82 trillion).

Despite strong retail participation, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) turned cautious, selling positions due to high valuations and global uncertainties. Corporate earnings in the latter half of FY25 fell short of expectations, adding pressure to the market.

The Sensex reached an all-time high of 85,978.25 in September but faced a correction in October, dropping by 5.82%. The market closed the fiscal with minor losses, as the Sensex ended at 77,414.92 and the Nifty at 23,519.35.

Key companies like Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, and TCS led in market valuation, and the IPO market remained strong despite global uncertainties affecting market stability.
