India, 28th May, 2025: Rooter, India’s only game streaming platform, clocked 120% year-on-year revenue growth, with its expansion into gaming commerce. The company reported $10 million (82 Crore) in revenue for FY25, a significant rise from $4.5 million (38 Crore) in FY24, driven by scaling multiple new monetization streams, in addition to the boost recorded by its existing brand and publisher monetization channels.
The company, tracking $24 million ARR currently, aims to grow approximately 4X by FY26. Towards this effort, it has also reduced its losses by 63% in the last 12 months and is on the path to hit profitability within the current financial year.
With a large audience base of 85+ million gamers, Rooter, India’s only game streaming platform forayed into the gaming commerce segment to power monetisation and the in-app transaction economy. The new vertical has become one of the fastest-growing revenue channels, significantly contributing to this growth. Built on the thesis of a growing microtransaction and in-app purchase behaviour, exhibited by India’s ardent gamers, the new Rooter Shop offers them gaming currencies, vouchers, and gift cards to level up their gaming experiences. This business is witnessing an average spending of approximately ₹2,400 per month on the Rooter platform.
With this move, Rooter is well positioned to capitalise on the in-app purchase market in India, which according to a recent report, stood at just $300 million three years ago and is poised to sur $1 billion this year, and reach $4.3 billion by 2029.
