NEW YORK, NY – May 10, 2025 – The Travel Agency, New York’s premier legal cannabis retail brand, is proud to announce the opening of its latest location in the heart of SoHo. A true love letter to downtown design, The Travel Agency SoHo elevates the cannabis retail experience by blending sculptural art, visionary architecture, and functional cannabis pieces in an immersive, first-of-its-kind environment.
Following the success of its Union Square, Downtown Brooklyn, and Fifth Avenue locations, The Travel Agency SoHo continues the brand’s commitment to building immersive, art-driven environments that feel more like contemporary galleries than traditional dispensaries.
Designed in close collaboration with leading creative studios, the SoHo store experience is anchored by:
- Leong Leong Architecture: Continuing their longstanding partnership with The Travel Agency, Leong Leong brings their award-winning minimalist-futurist design ethos to SoHo with a “space” concept — a sleek, sculptural environment that reflects the neighborhood’s boundary-pushing spirit.
- Big Heavy Studios: The custom fabrication elements add to a gallery-style presentation of products, positioning cannabis as an integral part of cultural and artistic expression. This approach elevates the cannabis shopping experience beyond traditional retail norms.
- Breakfast Studio: The inclusion of a kinetic art installation by Andrew Zolty introduces a dynamic, interactive element to the store. The installation creates a living, data-driven pulse within the space, enhancing the immersive atmosphere.
Bringing a fresh global perspective to cannabis retail, The Travel Agency SoHo will feature a curated Bong Gallery that showcases functional cannabis art and blurs the line between sculpture and ritual:
- Serena Confalonieri: The Milan-based designer’s psychedelic, color-saturated bongs will be on display, offering a playful yet refined take on contemporary cannabis rituals.
- Juan Manuel Carmona: The Mexican sculptor’s surreal OLMi Bong will the gallery, weaving humor, political commentary, and cultural identity into a striking functional piece.
ARANA HANKIN-BIGGERS: “As part of our mission to create retail experiences worth sightseeing, The Travel Agency has expanded to SoHo, one of New York’s most iconic cultural destinations. Long associated with boundary-pushing artists like Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, the neighborhood’s creative legacy serves as key inspiration for the brand’s newest location. The SoHo store is The Travel Agency’s most art-forward space to date, featuring custom installations and original art works that explore the intersection of cannabis and creativity. With this opening, The Travel Agency proudly continues the tradition of art, culture, and innovation that defines this neighborhood.”
LEONG LEONG: “The Travel Agency’s flagship in SoHo draws from the legacy of downtown Manhattan’s experimental art spaces— environments where lines between culture and commerce and art and everyday life have often blurred. Today retail experience is more than a transaction but an intersection of hospitality, culture, and curation.
Evolving the design language for this SoHo location, we developed a luminous, arcing ceiling that sweeps across the space, casting a soft glow over a constellation of curated vitrines. It’s part exhibition display and part travel lounge.”
Located at 598 Broadway, just south of Houston Street, The Travel Agency SoHo s its sister locations in establishing a new standard for cannabis retail: one where design innovation, cultural relevance, and community empowerment come together. The Travel Agency SoHo dispensary proudly operates under New York’s SEE (Social and Economic Equity) program, and like all of The Travel Agency’s stores advances the brand’s mission of ing social equity initiatives and reinvesting in the local community.

The Travel Agency’s commitment to excellence has earned widespread industry recognition, including three Clio Awards for Retail Design, Brand Design, and Public Relations.
