Bhubaneswar, May 22 – Gold prices surged significantly in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, with 24-carat gold rising by ₹2,400 in a single day and 22-carat gold increasing by ₹2,200. The new price of 10 grams of 22-carat gold now stands at ₹89,300, while 24-carat gold is priced at ₹97,420.
After a brief period of stability, gold prices have once again witnessed an upward spike, leaving customers concerned—especially those preparing for weddings and other ceremonial purchases.
Silver also saw a sharp rise, with prices increasing by ₹3,000 per kg, bringing the rate to ₹1,11,000 per kg. The price hike in both gold and silver is expected to impact the wedding season market, pushing up the financial burden on consumers.
This upward trend isn’t limited to Bhubaneswar. In the national capital, Delhi, gold prices climbed by ₹1,645, reaching ₹95,452 per 10 grams, while silver rose by ₹1,775 to ₹97,475 per kg.
Gold prices have already risen by ₹19,290 so far this year, up from ₹76,162 per 10 grams on January 1, 2025. Experts forecast that gold could cross ₹1,10,000 per 10 grams by the end of the year, driven by global economic trends and investor demand.
