19th May, 2025: India’s premier engineering entrance test, JEE Advanced 2025, was held on Sunday, by IIT Kanpur in two three-hour sessions at 712 centres in 222 cities in India and three foreign centres. This year witnessed a record-breaking registration count, with more than 1.90 lakh students ing for the exam. In the first shift alone, a total of 1,87,223 candidates appeared, comprising 1,43,810 boys and 43,413 girls.
Nitin Vijay, Founder and CEO, Motion Education, pointed to a positive trend for girl candidates in the current academic year and said, “The chances for girls to get into IITs are significantly higher in 2025 due to the increase in seats and the 20% female supernumerary quota. With 1,364 new B.Tech seats added this year, taking the total to over 18,500 across 23 IITs, the opportunity for deserving female aspirants is brighter than ever.”

The female supernumerary quota, in addition to the current female pool, continues to provide accessibility and opportunities for girls to get itted to India’s best engineering colleges.
Sharing his on the paper, Vijay reported that JEE Advanced 2025 was of moderate to difficult level of difficulty. Based on initial student , he said, “Mathematics was found to be the most challenging section, with lengthy, difficult, and time-consuming questions requiring conceptual clarity and profound thinking. Physics was reported as moderate to challenging, with questions requiring understanding and accuracy, while Chemistry was comparatively easier in both sessions, allowing students to conserve time during the exam. Paper 2 proved to be tougher than Paper 1, particularly as eight number value-type questions were provided with no options. As compared to previous years, no paragraph-type questions were posed. Maths and Physics proved to be time-consuming and tough in Paper-2, whereas Chemistry proved to be a comparatively easier level of difficulty.”
Following objections’ scrutiny, the final answer key and result will be declared on June 2 on the official website [jeeadv.ac.in](https://jeeadv.ac.in). Category-wise All India Ranks will be intimated through SMS. Personal rank cards will not be distributed this year, though.
