Som Distilleries and Breweries Limited Sets stage for Expansion With Bhoomi Pujan at New Uttar Pradesh Facility 365j5e

Uttar Pradesh, 22nd May 2025: Som Distilleries & Breweries Ltd., a leading name in India’s alcoholic beverages industry, marked a major milestone with the Bhoomi Pujan for its ₹600 crore greenfield project in Khimsepur, Farrukhabad District, Uttar Pradesh. Spread across 40 acres of land allotted by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), the state-of-the-art facility will house a brewery, distillery, and advanced manufacturing units under the company’s subsidiary Woodpecker Greenagri Nutrients.

The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony was held in the presence of company leadership Mr. Deepak Arora, Chief Executive Officer, Som Group of Companies signaling the beginning of construction activities. The plant, one of the largest plants of the company will have a bottling capacity of more than 12 million cases of beer per annum. With over 5 beer brands in its portfolio, this factory will be one of the largest Indian single location alco-beverages complex with a brewery, distillery, bottling lines, storage, and maturation facilities.

We are incorporating cutting edge technologies to creating an ESG-compliant plant that will use Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and advanced membrane technology so as to sustainability, water conservation, energy efficiency, and responsible business practices. The facility is expected to create significant employment opportunities, boost local sourcing and supply chains, and contribute to the state’s ongoing efforts to attract high-impact industrial investments.
