Vadodara: Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL), in collaboration with Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (DGVCL) and Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (MGVCL), has launched the ‘SafeLine Campaign’—a state-wide safety initiative to safeguard on-field electrical personnel and minimize operational risks. The campaign is being implemented in partnership with Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP), IntelliSmart Infrastructure.
The campaign was formally inaugurated in Vadodara by Shri Jai Prakash Shivahare, MD-GUVNL, in the esteemed presence of Shri Tejas Parmar, MD-MGVCL, Shri Yogesh Choudhary, MD-DGVCL, and Shri Anil Rawal, MD & CEO of IntelliSmart Infrastructure, along with other senior officials and dignitaries.
Shri Anil Rawal, MD & CEO, IntelliSmart, lauded the initiative, said “SafeLine reflects our deep respect for the linemen, the true frontline heroes of India’s power infrastructure. We are honoured to contribute to their safety and professional development.”
As part of the SafeLine campaign, linemen from MGVCL and DGVCL will undergo comprehensive, hands-on safety training, with an emphasis on real-time, on-site practices to prevent electrical accidents and improve preparedness.
The first training session began on Friday, covering linemen from 10 divisions across MGVCL and DGVCL. Training will continue in a phase-wise manner on the 6th of every month through the end of 2025. IntelliSmart’s certified safety professionals will lead the sessions, also expanding outreach to linemen in Gujarat, reinforcing the message that “life is priceless, and safety is non-negotiable.” Linemen from 39 divisions of DGVCL & MGVCL will be trained under SafeLine initiative in a year.
A lineman from Nadiad subdivision, Govind Bhai expressed his appreciation: “We are excited to witness the presence of DISCOMs’ MD and it shows the seriousness of this initiative. The training proved to be highly informative, reinforcing the importance of prioritizing safety at all times.”
IntelliSmart continues to Gujarat’s power infrastructure transformation through its smart metering program, having already installed over 6.5 lakh meters, driving the vision of a smarter and more sustainable energy future for the state.
