Justice T. Amarnath Goud Conferred Honorary Doctorate 606u16

Hyderabad / Agartala (Tripura), May 30  2025:  Justice TAmarnath Goud, Judge of the High Court of Tripura, was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate (Doctor of Letters) by Maharaja Bir Bikram University at a special convocation ceremony held in Agartala, Tripura on Thursday. The honour was bestowed in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the judiciary.

The honorary degree was presented to Justice Amarnath Goud during the university’s first convocation by Tripura Governor Shri Indrasena Reddy Nallu in the presence of  Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.

Justice TAmarnath Goud, who hails from Hyderabad, previously served as a judge in the Telangana High Court before being transferred to the Tripura High Court. He is currently the Executive Chairman of the Tripura State Legal Services Authority and has also served as the Acting Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court for a period of six months.

Justice Goud garnered national attention when he disposed of an astounding 92,000 cases, averaging 109 cases per day. Notably, 99.9% of these judgments went unchallenged, reflecting high levels of acceptance and satisfaction among both litigants and legal professionals. Of these, 362 judgments have been officially reported.

In recognition of his remarkable service and judicial excellence, Maharaja Bir Bikram University conferred the Honorary Doctorate upon him.
